Flower Anne Schilde dreams of being a fiction writer. Lessons of life, love, and friendship color her story of how an oppressive father and a bizarre personality disorder, turned her dream into a roller-coaster of emotions.

Webster’s Kiss was completed in manuscript on October 28th, 2010. After the manuscript was edited, I elected not to publish it as is. One of these days, when I can find the emotional fortitude, I will make a few changes, and submit it for publishing.

Excerpts/adaptations available here:

The Night Before Christmas – Adapted from a synopsis that appears in chapter 7 – Christmas in October – written for Christmas and originally posted on Facebook while the book was being edited.

Rash Behavior – Adapted from chapter 19 – The Wall – originally posted on Facebook while the book was being edited. An amusing alternative version of how I met Stephen that didn’t fit the mood of the story.

Günther Wilhelm – A short story in summary form adapted from a synopsis that appears in chapter 8 – First Mates – written for Armistice Day (and my birthday).

Jenny and the Snowy Owl – My first attempt at an on-line novel (interrupted by Kate) was adapted from a bedtime story Annie made up for Nana in chapter 17- Annie’s Place.

Pigeon Whispers – Based loosely on a synopsis that appears in chapter 10 – The Gardener. This was an idea for a rags-to-riches-to-rags story that sort of went dark on me when I started to write it.

Dear Sarah – Chapter 1 of the novel shared for Write Wednesdays #13.

The Barkless Prairie Dog – Excerpts from chapter 10 – The Gardener – adapted slightly into a story for Valentine’s Day.

The Bottom Line – Excerpt from the chapter (6) of the same name, shared for Picture It & Write 3/17/2012.

Customer Satisfaction – Chapter 7 of my novel The Price of a Flower. It was adapted from one of Annie’s psychotic experiences that appears in chapter 9 – Kate’s Customer – and was shared here as part of the Kate series.

Shades of Grey – The conclusion of chapter 6 – The Bottom Line – shared for Picture It & Write 4/7/2012.

Taste a Rainbow – A could-have-been moment adapted from chapter 18 – A Run in the Park – written for Picture It & Write 4/29/2012.

A Flower by Annie other Name…? – An adaptation from chapter 4 – Fallen Petals – shared for Picture It & Write 9/8/2012. The part in Mr. Smythe’s class was actually the very first piece of fiction I wrote outside of school. 🙂

Sarah’s Window – Annie’s inaugural article for her high school paper, mentioned in the chapter (2) of the same name, written for Picture It & Write 3/10/2013.

Le Rasoir Argent – Adapted from the same chapter 18 plane flight as Taste a Rainbow. Written for Picture It & Write 6/8/2013

Of course, there are also a number of other short stories here that can be found variously under the tags Flower Anne, Annie, and Jessi, that reuse the same characters. Those shorts don’t necessarily have anything to do with Webster’s Kiss unless they are also listed here.
