Prepare for a fright
Monsters in moonlight will be
Hurrying
Scurrying
Flurrying tonight
The haunted moon rises
Over shadowed surprises wearing
Pawsome
Clawsome
Awesome disguises
It’s scary no doubt
When creatures are out and they’re
Howling
Growling
Prowling about
Little critter feet
Roaming the street while they
Bicker
Snicker
Trick or treat!

Yay!!! You have just the right tone there- that’s Halloween to me.
Cool! I don’t usually think much of my poetry, but I wanted to give you at least one and I love Halloween!
Wow! You are very good at writing poem, Anne! Rumpy’s and yours are very professional ones!!!
Woo woo! 🙂
Thank you, Kevin! When I saw yours post last night, I immediately felt bad cuz mine wasn’t more of an animal poem. I feel better now. 🙂
I think this is a great poem. Perfect for young children at halloween time.
Oh thank you! I wanted it to be about the little children being “spooky” so that’s such a great comment!!
This poem is terrific and worthy of being in a kids’ poetry book. Great rhythm and word choices. You have a real knack for it!

Gosh, I don’t know what to say except thank you! If you publish a kids’ poetry book, let me know!
Love love love love ❤ Thank you for sharing!
Thanks always for reading! ♥
Wonderfully done. Very funny and musical.
I loved trick-or-treating so much!
You do not grow out of it. Society does 😦
